Big Trouble

Private Eye Nora Mallory runs a one-woman detective agency, mostly stuck with boring divorce cases after she gets on the wrong side of a powerful local politician. But one of those divorce cases ends up being a lot more than she planned for. She doesn’t buy the police’s explanation for who committed an unexpected murder, and trying to solve it on her own gets the size-shifting cat into trouble with rich layabouts, a mysterious illicit importing company, a playboy’s photography studio that shoots racy pinups of giantesses, and the police.

A noir mystery novella, Big Trouble is set in the same alternate-1920s milieu as Goddess, “The Sea Monster of Dorgissey Harbour,” and a few other stories.
